THE Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) celebrated its fourth anniversary at the historic Club Filipino in San Juan City during which national and local officials urged unity and solidarity for the betterment of the country.
PFP Secretary-General Thompson Lantion told The Manila Times that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the party's national chairman, has given the go-signal to continue mobilizing and establishing its position as a dominant political party.
Lantion also thanked the men and women who make up the party for doing all in their power to ensure the victory of Marcos in the last elections.
"After three years, we have finally elected a president, which is a great honor for our group. Similar experiences have not occurred with other big political parties, Lantion said in Filipino.
"We take pride and honor in having our own National Chairman that would focus on peace, progress and development of our nation," he added.
Lantion, a retired police general, emphasized that the PFP is not an elitist party but a party of ordinary citizens, including farmers, fishermen, overseas Filipino workers and many more.
"When I spoke with the President, he said that he joined PFP because he wanted to ensure that the disadvantaged sectors of society would have power and that local governments would be strengthened," Lantion said.
He concluded by saying that sacrifice and unity were the keys to their electoral success.
In addition to celebrating PFP's fourth anniversary and its victory in the 2022 election, PFP General Counsel George Briones expressed his gratification over PFP's accomplishments of uniting people, especially the overseas Filipino workers who made a significant advantage on the numbers of Marcos.
"Let's maintain our humility, like our President does. Just being calm while striving for economic recovery," Briones said.
"Let's support our President, who is also the secretary of agriculture and is working hard to ensure food security," he added.
Also present at the event was Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., who affirmed on behalf of the President that they are making every effort to put things right since no administration has ever started off without a mishap.
Early in 2018, supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte, including the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee (MRRD-NECC), a group that backed his 2016 campaign for president and former PDP-Laban members, established the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
Marcos was unanimously chosen by the party as its standard-bearer in the 2022 elections in September last year.
Marcos officially became a member of the party and its chairman in October.
